A sculptural Parisian salon

Paris apartments are usually pictured in white walls, tall windows and pale oak. The concept kept the bones of that picture (the paneling, the cornices, the generous windows) and changed the mood inside it. Neoclassical wall panels give the rooms order. Sculptural furniture and pop-art accents give them personality. Brass and gold introduce the geometry of the 1920s, translated into today's proportions. Two design versions were developed for the same plan. The dark gallery wraps the rooms in black and midnight paneling. A related lighter tour, recognizable by the same spatial organization, furniture and art, explores white, green and gold. The versions are alternatives rather than one finished state, and the gallery presents the dark palette.

Pattern, metal and dark cabinetry

The kitchen is where Art Deco shows most clearly, through materials rather than applied ornament. The island is clad in fluted brass under a black stone top, set against quilted white lacquer panels whose stitched pattern turns cabinetry into a textured wall. Fluting catches light in vertical lines and hides fingerprints better than flat metal, a practical detail in a kitchen that also serves as the social heart of the apartment. Placing the island as a freestanding object lets it read as furniture from the dining area. Guests gather on one side while cooking happens on the other.

The private rooms

The primary bedroom centers on a channel-tufted headboard in teal velvet, with matching bedding, white lamps and a window opening toward a terrace. Against midnight walls, teal reads as deep and restful rather than loud, and velvet softens sound in a city apartment where street noise travels. A sculptural gold medallion on the wall carries the metallic theme into the private rooms. In the dressing area, a gilded baroque mirror above a slim brass console mixes periods on purpose, so the apartment never feels like a stage set. The bathroom is lined in warm grey marble with a dark walnut wall, a bronze-tinted freestanding tub and wall-hung fixtures. Picture-style spots graze the stone, letting its veining become the decoration. Wall-hung pieces leave the floor clear, which makes the room look larger and easier to keep clean.
